Have you ever wondered how luxury townhomes get a massive hot tub that weighs over 2,000 lbs onto the roof of their buildings? Real estate developer, ICON Residential, wants to give everyone insight on how they deck out their rooftop terraces, 5-person hot tub included!

ICON’s first time featuring hot tubs started at their Arlington St. Pete Community across the bridge in St. Petersburg. Getting such a positive response from current and potential residents on the hot tubs, ICON began to feature them on rooftop terraces in a majority of its urban living townhome communities, the next one landing on the top of the Westshore Village community in Tampa. Due to the outrageous measures ICON takes to load up the hot tubs, some of the construction crew took photos last year of the hot tubs at Arlington, mid-air, and it is quite a sight to see.
The process begins by ICON hiring a ridiculously huge crane to lift the hot tubs over 50 feet into the air. After all, the crane has to be tall enough to get the hot tub high enough to suspend the hot tub OVER the building. Did we mention that the crew can’t just drop the hot tub into its designated spot? The crane operator has to maneuver the 2,000 lb relaxation station, claw machine-style between the building tops and architecture.

Once the crew has helped the crane to position the hot tub in the right spot, the crane has done all it came to do, and it’s up to the crew to put it in its perfect spot.
At ICON’s Westshore Village, the construction crew will be repeating this process for a total of 10 of its townhomes that feature rooftop living in the first phase. The WV rooftops not only feature the hot tubs as a rooftop amenity, but they also include a full outdoor grill, storage for your barbeque parties and views of the community and pool. The Westshore Village urban townhomes make a bold statement with innovative architecture, graceful design and amenities that add to the convenience of this inspired in-town address. Six distinct floor plan designs are available ranging in size from 1,445 to 2,543 square feet. Keep an eye out for the next hot tub that will be flying up at Westshore Village this week!
