Mike is the second generation principal of a local family-owned real estate investment and property management company, a vertically integrated company that has been in operation for over 30 years. Today, Mike is the owner of Broome Capital & Proluxe Properties, affiliate Tampa Bay-based firms concentrating on the acquisition, renovation, repositioning and development of distressed residential and commercial real estate. Brome Capital has over 500 residential, multifamily and commercial assets under management. Mike has extensive experience overseeing the operations and acquisitions facets of the business, as well as raising institutional capital to execute the various opportunistic strategies. He is responsible for overseeing the land acquisition strategy for Icon.
Mike is a graduate of the University of Florida having received a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and a Master’s in Business Management. Mike is a licensed commercial and residential Building Contractor with the State of Florida and also holds a Florida Real Estate Broker’s License. He has also achieved a Master’s of Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
Ryan has worked in the real estate industry for over 14 years and has a strong track record for success in property development, acquisitions, property management and operations. His varied career has included working within nearly all sectors of real estate throughout the Southeastern United States. Previously Ryan was closely involved in the development and construction of over 1,500 apartment and condominium units throughout Tampa Bay with a combined project value exceeding $250MM. These projects were diversified in product types and included adaptive reuse, conventional garden style apartments, urban infill midrise, as well as high-rise developments. Within Icon, Ryan is responsible for the oversight of all development activities for projects in the pipeline.
Ryan holds a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Engineering, a Master’s degree from Georgia Tech in Building Construction and a Master’s degree in Real Estate from Georgia State University. Ryan is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and holds a Florida Real Estate Brokerage License.
Peggy has over 10+ year of corporate finance and investing experience. Prior to co-founding Broome Capital in 2012 with Mike Bednarski, she was a research analyst with a multi-billion hedge fund in NYC, specializing in equity investments for five years. Peggy started her career as an investment banking analyst at JPMorgan Chase. She has extensive underwriting, financing, buyout, workout and public market experiences. She is responsible for overseeing corporate management, finance, accounting and investor relations.
Peggy holds a BS with Finance concentration and a MBA with Real Estate concentration from Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania.
Director of Acquisitions
Jason began his real estate career at a young age learning about design, construction, financing and property management from his father who was a residential investor in southwest Florida. Jason has since been involved in the underwriting, financial structuring and development of multiple multi-family projects in the southeast as well as a stint in banking as an analyst within the institutional real estate group at Wells Fargo. In his role with Icon, Jason is responsible for new deal generation, securing entitlements, and early stage development of townhome projects in the southeast. Jason is an active member in his local ULI chapter and a member of the ULI Center for Leadership class of 2015 in Atlanta. Outside of work Jason enjoys exploring the many Atlanta neighborhoods and local food scene.
Jason holds a Bachelor’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Master’s degree in Real Estate Development from the University of Maryland.
Director of Construction
Ken has over 15 years’ experience in construction management and started at a very young age working for his father’s real estate development company. He worked on both residential and commercial projects growing up and had been involved in residential developments with over 500 homes. Ken started his career out of college as an onsite engineer for commercial projects and has been involved with 2 different top 10 builders in leadership roles over the past 10 years.
Ken’s role within ICON will be to manage all aspects of construction and warranty with a strong focus on quality, timely delivery and becoming the builder of choice in the Tampa Market.
Ken holds an Architectural Engineering degree from the Pennsylvania State University.
Director of Sales
Robin is an experienced leader with a daily focus on activities that result in increased sales and profit margins. Exceptional as a team recruiter, manager, developer and mentor who believes in the continuous pursuit of team excellence and advancement. Robin also has a strong market knowledge of builders, products, specifications and buyer demographics. She is well rounded knowledge of the Tampa market and an accomplished marketing professional with experience in cost effective marketing efforts which achieve great results. She also has an in depth and up to date financing knowledge and very effective problem solving skills used to make sales and closings happen.
Brian has had an interest in design and cities going back to his youth and Architecture classes in High School. Brian has been involved in a wide variety of land development projects ranging from infill projects to large, Master Planned Communities. Brian’s experience includes 3rd
party review of site plans and planning reports, and has been qualified as an Expert Witness in Land Use and Socioeconomics.
Brian’s role at Icon is in Project Management and of all Land Planning and preliminary design efforts, as well as managing the Land Use Entitlements. Brian is responsible for the detailed review of Comprehensive Plans, Zoning Regulations, Land Development Codes and Technical Design Manuals in order to prepare suitable townhome community designs. Additionally, Brian has an active role in managing the Public Hearing and Public Citizen Workshop processes.
Brian has a degree in Urban Studies and Environmental Design from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, with additional Graduate Studies in Urban and Regional Planning from Florida State University.
Amy has a diverse residential background in purchasing, production planning and construction site management. Her 15+ years of experience has been with public and privately held companies and with both luxury and production type building of single and multifamily product. Throughout Amy’s career, she has contributed to the opening of more than 40 new communities in various intricate roles. Within ICON, she works closely with architecture to coordinate value in the design of our new product. Amy’s strongest focus is on all aspects of trade partner alliance growth and management, while maintaining highly desired finishes at competitive pricing to meet the needs of our modern and sophisticated market.
Amy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management as well as an Associates in Architecture Technology from Purdue University.
Lily began designing at a young age, from learning how to draw to creating evening gowns; she used her skills to become a marketing expert. At Icon Residential, Lily is responsible for all marketing aspects, including building presentable floor plans, brochures, comprehensible websites, and being active on Icon’s social media accounts.
Along with a marketing background, Lily has graphic design experience, given a motivational speech to her alma mater and is also an active member in the social media and Moz community.
Lily holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design and Marketing from the International Academy of Design and Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing from Colorado Technical University.
